Kolkata, August 11 After grilling the students in a marathon examination for admission into non-technical courses like BBA and BCA this year, the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) has finally decided to reward all the students, who had studied hard for the examination.

Giving in to the demands of parents and students, the WBUT has decided to allow berths even to the student, who have failed to qualify in the test.

Around 17,000 candidates had appeared for the CET (Common Entrance Test) examination for 15,000 seats of non-AICTE courses this year.

The results of the examination were declared today. However, it led to a protest by the parents of the candidates at the Salt Lake campus of the university. Finally, the university conceded to their demands and gave the students a chance of getting admitted to the private colleges in the state.

“The demands of the protesting students will be addressed and in future the university will revamp the examination process so that such situation does not occur,” said Sabyasachi Sengupta the Vice-Chancellor of WBUT.
