Varun Industries Limited, one of India's largest exporters of stainless steel products has launched its retail venture in the city under the brand name 'Varun Premium Kitchenware and More'. The company inaugurated its first store in this part of the country formally on Wednesday. For the unaware, Varun Industries is one of India's largest exporter supplying as many as 1,500 products of stainless steel to over 50 countries across the world. The city store is located in Sector 17 C next to Hot Millions 2 and was formally inaugurated by Director General of Police, Punjab, NPS Aulakh. Also present on the occasion was the company's chairman and managing director Kiran Mehta and joint managing director Kailash Agarwal. And what's on the shelves? High quality steel items that include cutlery, tableware, cookware, kitchenware, houseware, hotelware, bar accessories, petware, decorative steel items and steel jewellery too. The products are a blend of aesthetics and functionalism aiming to take stainless steel usage beyond the kitchen, to a totally new level synonymous with style and status. As far as expansion goes, the company plans to open a total of nine stores in the same format by end September and approximately 36 outlets by end of 2009.

THEY are fun, fashionable and one of the most looked forward event on any city's party roster. The Blender's Pride Magical Nights are back and are set to roll out in the city on August 29. While India's first multi-city party circuit started on August 20 at Delhi's ultimate party haunt - The F Bar, the night in Chandigarh will see style guru Rocky S play host along with Amisha Patel and designer Manav Gangwani. A fashion show and a rockin' party is what the night will raise a toast to.

A SEMINAR on ‘Management as a career’ was held at Guru Nanak Public School in Sector 36, organized by Pace Setter in association with AK Vidyamandir.
