At least three people died and one seriously injured when a speeding car ran into a stationary truck near Bagodara on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Jayanti Gajera, Gandabhai Gajera and Harshad Barot, all residents of Sarvodaya Society near India Colony in Bapunagar area. The injured has been identified as Nathabhai Gajera, also from the same area. The Bagodara police have identified rash driving as the caue of the accident.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6.30 am near Gundi Patiya on the Bagodara-Dhandhuka Highway on Sunday, when the car passengers were on their way to Bhavnagar.
“The driver of the car, Harshad Barot, failed to notice a stationary truck standing on the side of the road. As a result, he rammed the truck, resulting in the death of two persons on the spot. Barot was rushed to a Bavla Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Sub-Inspector J R Chauhan. One person has been admitted at the VS Hospital in Ahmedabad, where his condition is said to be out of danger, he said.
