Jaipur, September 3: Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) President Lalit Modi on Wednesday said Greg Chappell's appointment as head coach of Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane would not snap his ties with the RCA academy in Jaipur.

Congratulating Chappell on his new assignment, Modi said, "Greg's appointment as the head coach of the Centre of Excellence is indeed a very prestigious assignment for him and we at the Rajasthan Cricket Association are truly very happy for him. It adds another feather to his cap as a coach of outstanding merit and distinction.”

"We are also happy that Greg will continue his association as advisor to the Centre of Excellence at our very own Rajasthan Cricket Academy," he said.

"I am certain that with Greg and Ian Frazer at the helm of guiding the talent development program at the Rajasthan Cricket Academy, our cricket and the budding cricketers are in good hands," said the BCCI vice president.

In a statement, Chappell said he was 'proud' to be involved with both the academies which, although geographically apart, reflect a common vision of identifying and nurturing fresh cricketing talent.

"It will be my joint endeavour with Ian to ensure that we cover all these bases at both Cricket Australia and the Rajasthan Cricket Academy," said the former India coach.
