Mumbai, October 10: Ok…let's do this exercise …quickly pick up the dictionary and search for the synonyms of the word 'gorgeous '. We are sure that the answers will range from words like 'beautiful', 'stunning', 'elegant', 'attractive', 'lovely' etc… Having done that, now search for the synonyms of 'Rekha'. We bet that there will be no synonym/s to describe this ageless Diva. In other words, even the dictionary would fall short of words to describe Rekha, who celebrates her Birthday this Friday. (Please do not ask us her age, as Divas like Rekha only grow younger every year!).

Having said 'Cheese' to the Bollywood quite early in life, she went on to grace films that have been hugely responsible for giving Bollywood its international identity. For all those who have always yearned to wish this lady, we give you the chance that you thought was never possible. Simply post your 'Happy Birthday' wishes below and you never know…today could just be your lucky day!

Rekha in Bollywood

Rekha was particularly recognised for her roles in women-oriented films like 'Khubsoorat', 'Umrao Jaan' which won her a national award, and 'Khoon Bhari Mang' that fetched her a Filmfare award. Rekha has acted in over 180 films in a career spanning 40 years.

She is one of the few Hindi film actresses who had the versatility to carry with equal aplomb diverse roles like the young brat in 'Khoobsoorat', the sultry siren in 'Muqaddar Ka Sikander', the housewife in 'Ijaazat' and the classical courtesan in 'Umrao Jaan'.

Among her offbeat films were Shyam Benegal's 'Kalyug', Ramesh Talwar's 'Baseraa', which saw her playing the woman who marries her sister's husband and loses her mental balance, and commercially successful 'Ek Hi Bhool' opposite Jeetendra. Other notable art films were 'Jeevan', 'Dhaara', 'Utsav' and 'Ijazat'.
