Moreover, the UPA government at the Centre had ‘failed miserably’ on all fronts, Jaitley said adding the BJP would fight the coming Lok Sabha poll with ‘Save India’ as its main plank.
Addressing a convention of BJP's UP Yuva Chatra in Lucknow, he alleged the Manmohan Singh government had failed to tackle terrorism and runaway inflation.
Lashing out at the Congress, Jaitley said it lacked the will to combat terror and added the BJP was the only party which could effectively tackle the menace.
Accusing the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the BSP of pursuing vote bank politics, he said this had relegated issues like inflation and terror into the backburner.
Without naming anyone, the BJP general secretary flayed those who, he said, were questioning the genuiness of the Jamia Nagar encounter in Delhi.
"Some people are even questioning the sacrifice of Delhi Police Inspector M C Sharma. This has never happened in the past," he said.
