Ludhiana Consumers today alleged the Verka milk packets they bought from the vendors in the morning smelt of diesel because of which they could not consume the product. The complaints pertained to milk packets picked up from the Verka milk plant situated near Haibowal.

Sources said that a milk van driver applied diesel on the trays of milk packets so that that trays could slide down smoothly. This may have caused smell in the milk.

Verka milk plant authorities while confirming the blunder said that the driver had been warned not to repeat this mistake in future.
