Three arrested for impersonation during IELTS exam in city

Ludhiana Youth aspiring for greener pastures can do just about anything to be there. In this pursuit, the clearance of English language poses a big stumble for some which they seem have learnt to circumvent.

The city police arrested three, including two girls, on charges of impersonation during an IELTS examination. The accused were produced in the court today and were sent to two-day police remand.

Giving the details of the case, SP City Harsh Kumar Bansal said, "A private company that sends people abroad was conducting an IELTS test yesterday. During checking, three were found to be impersonating. The company officials informed us and arrests were made." Those arrested include Harpreet Kaur, Sukhvir Kaur and Lovedeep Singh. The police informed that these three were carrying the original passports of one Rajvir Kaur, Gurinder Kaur and Gurptitam Singh. Meanwhile, an FIR against those arrested has been registered at the Division Number 5 police station.

The police said the three impersonators had removed the pictures of original passport owners and fixed their own pictures. The police are still tracing the original passport holders.
