Ahmedabad The Gujarat BJP began a two-day executive meeting on Saturday to discuss the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha polls and prepare a strategy for the forthcoming municipal elections in Junagadh. This is the first executive body meet of the state unit since the Lok Sabha polls this year.

A unanimous resolution in favour of GUJCOC (Gujarat Control of Organised Crime) Bill was also passed on Saturday.

“We have passed a resolution on GUJCOC Bill, which has been returned by the Central government recently,” said party general secretary Jayanti Barot.

He said Gujarat needs a tough law to fight terrorism. Meanwhile, according to state BJP general secretary, Vijay Rupani, the party leaders will deliberate on a range of issues including performance in the Lok Sabha polls, Junagadh corporation elections and organisational matters in the state.

Moreover, the party will also chalk out a strategy for elections in seven assembly segments, which will be held in two months.
