Arvind Adiga wins Booker prize
Not everyone quits a job and manages to come up with a story idea that leads the path to a Booker Prize. Arvind has done all this and at the age of 33. Arvind felt it was important for him to showcase someone from the colossal underclass as the protagonist of his book titled ‘ The White Tiger’. Adiga’s hero Balram Halwai sees Delhi, driving around in a Honda city. Three years back, he himself did just that to gather material for his book, but not in car. However, no victory comes without a pinch of salt. Adiga was criticised for portraying such a poor and hungry image of India.
